Building Brighter Futures: JaxTHRIVE Volunteer Training Kicks off the Academic Year! by Rohan Jones

On August 12th, we kicked off the 2023-2024 academic year with our JaxTHRIVE Leadership Council meeting and Volunteer Training session at UNF. The turnout was impressive, bringing together volunteers from Bolles, Ponte Vedra High, Episcopal, Paxton, Mandarin, and UNF. We had more than 40 volunteers attending in person and 17 volunteers from across the country joining via zoom. Their enthusiasm and dedication are a testament to the impact we're making together. During the training, we delved into essential topics and set the stage for an exciting academic year ahead. Our volunteers had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, gain valuable insights, and prepare themselves to make a real difference in the lives of the refugee students we support. We are incredibly excited to start both our Super Saturdays and our virtual tutoring programs!

As we embark on this academic year, we're fueled by the passion of our volunteers and the unwavering support of our community. Together, we're poised to create a lasting impact, and we invite you to stay connected and be a part of our journey. Keep an eye on our website (www.jaxthrive.org), Instagram and Facebook for updates on our upcoming events and ways to get involved. Your support makes all the difference, and we can't wait to see what we'll achieve together in the coming months. Thank you for being a part of the JaxTHRIVE community!
